About VAST

The Visual Anthropology Society at Temple (VAST) is a student-run organization that promotes discussion and collaboration in the study of visual culture and the use of visual methodologies.

VAST is headquartered at Temple University’s Anthropology Department on the 2nd floor of Gladfelter Hall on the main campus. Facilities include the Media Anthropology Lab.

Membership in VAST in open and rolling. The organization welcomes TU graduate students, undergrads, professors and alumni from any department who have a serious interest in Visual Anthropology, visual representations of culture, and the process and politics of visual communications.
